Hi there! Welcome to my channel! My name is Olivia and I was diagnosed with ASD in January 2020 at 24 years old. It was the best day of my life because I finally got my answer to my lifelong question of, “Why am I the way I am?”
My goal now is to help others struggling in the same way I was and bring awareness to what Autism looks like in females and adults. I upload videos about Autism, how it affects me, and my personal experiences with it. Follow along with me as I figure out how to live my best life on the Autism Spectrum!

How Discontinuing Products Hurt Autistic People
I'm Olivia Hops and welcome to my channel! I talk about all things Autistic, mostly focusing on women and adults.
In today's video, I talk about how discontinuing products, whether it's soap, laundry detergent, food, toilet paper- anything, can hurt autistic people.
Why does it hurt us? Often times, autistic people are extremely highly sensitive and change is very difficult for us. Scents of products can be very overpowering for our brains and cause us to have meltdowns, so if we find one product we like and then it suddenly disappears, it can be very hard for us because one, it's a change, and two, because we may not be able to find another scent we like. Same goes for food and anything e...

Hey guys, it's Olivia! Thank you so much for tuning into another video of mine. Please be respectful in the comments are I will turn them off. This video talks all about Autism and vaccines. After seeing an ignorant post on Instagram correlating the increase in vaccines to the increase in Autism, I just had to make a video on the subject. Vaccines do NOT cause Autism! This is a myth. I go over ...

I have "High Functioning" Autism | AUTISM IN GIRLS
Just a family member telling me about various people who annoy them or was inappropriate, and then adding "I think he's a bit autistic or something", knowing that I am diagnosed 😢 And my mother telling me in advance what might be appropriate to say at a future meeting, but only since I was diagnosed, been reading too much advise online and forgotten who I even am.
Omg this!!! I hate this so much, if it was up to me I would use all of the same products my entire life 😅 Sadly this isn't how the world works.. I started using a certain type of sunscreen back in 2019 after searching for one I could handle for YEARS and I would use it every single day (as SPF is important). I went through soo many bottles. I guess the bottle was 15 euros or something. Last year I wanted to buy a new one and they discontinued the whole line. I was so upset and panicked until I found a website online that was still selling them..for 70 euros each!! I stocked up because I HAD to have them, but now I only have one bottle left and still don't know what to do after that one...😢
Also, you don't have to apologize so much and say that "you probably sound dramatic", we get you 😊❤
In my country, a lot of parents play vulgar music in front of their children. I believe this is a bad idea. It will open your child's to a dark world
Olivia, I'm terrified to find out so I've been avoiding the possibility for years and years. I only understand animals and God. I don't go out either. Thr dog barking down the road drives me crazy. He is outside in their yard and he constantly barks. My X husband never understood why it bothred me. I also would ask him constantly if he was mad or upset and he would say no every time. I hate things around me exceot nature but I'm afraid of most men because I survived domestic abuse.
Bosses want you to be bubbly and outgoing and have a big smile on your face. Unfortunately personality is valued over top work performance in today's world
You know the movie "Home" I relate to the character "Oh". The other Boov aliens dislike him for being different. I feel like "Oh" sometimes. The other Boov aliens run away from "Oh" or say they don't like him. Even though he says he wants to be friends and tries to make friends with them. Until he makes friends with the human girl Tip. Both Tip and "Oh" seem autistic to me but I relate to "Oh" the most.
im20 and my meltdowns are still looked over and judged and pushed aside to this day by my mother, who does not believe that i believe ive been autistic my entire life...... my meltdowns recently are looked at as lashing out instead of a sign that shes not paying attention to my needs. i feel so alone, trapped, and gaslit. nobody believes me and i cannot help myself even if i try. i fear nobody will ever get it.
my sister who is also autistic was taken seriously only because she had more recognizable symptoms. i was and still m just seen as a petulant child/crybaby adult that cant do anything for themselvs and is selfish nd sensitive. it hurts, so so much.hope is getting harder and harder to hold onto.
How do I get evaluated in the US? I can't keep any relationships in person at all. I only relate to animals. And I really do want to figure it out. I get truly depressed. The self hatred I really relate to.
Some people don't understand or just don't want to understand.
Half way through...*organizing things* ...me...as a late self-diagnosed 48 year old onnthe spectrum, I am struggling to hold down a job...but I do enjoy organizing...I will walk into stores and the labels are wrong...I will either mention it or fix it myself😅 I think I should look into Merchandising ...Thank you for this❤
I loved being alone too as a child. I was very fortunate that my mother's education was in speech and hearing therapy. My brother's first word, at I think 6 months was the word "fish" - he was pointing at the mobile that had fish. He missed the autism bullet, while I got that and the ADHD. FOr me, it was reading wherein I was delayed, not speech. - I just don't like clothing. - I did Very well in the Pony Club Know-Down (horse trivia - I had it all down). - Give me indecision or give me something else! - My gut issues were the opposite - lots of diarrhea, and I didn't have night time urinary continence till I was 12 or so. - - I cannot control how you will take this, so I will try to pose this question/comment in the gentlest way possible. When you make a video, do you really enjoy it? I get a rush when I am on stage - I love to perform, and I especially love the distance created by the sage between myself and the audience. Alternatively, you could have learned like so many of us did that if we smile and are pleasant, that people will forgive us of more. I have a very plastic face, and so can possibly create a smile larger than yours, and with the neuromuscular disorder that is probably related to my autism, my face would hurt, and with the ADHD meds, my teeth would dry out. So I am trying to figure out if you are desperately masking or desperately excited - you could certainly be both. I got my diagnosis when I was 40, so 7 years ago (ok, 6.5). It's remarkable, to actually have answers to why you are how you are.
Are you wearing a Captain America shirt in this video @Olivia? If so i love it!
Hello, I'm Samantha. I just came across your channel. I could relate to you because I'm autistic too. I'm 26 years old. I'm trying to grow my platform on RUclips with a different way of learning. I have a RUclips channel if you are interested in checking out my work or anyone.?. ( Samantha C.@hellodiysam ).
I struggled at jobs I worked at as well.
There is permanent herbs to improve autism. It’s a medicine you can get from Dr Oyalo, his herbs have made my son improve perfectly in his speech and social skills.

I have problems with getting into the shower but then once I am in I feel better and then as soon as I get out I need to be dried immediately. With obsessions it’s shows for me. I get extremely invested in the characters how they feel if they die in the show I have breakdowns and it’s awful and then for the show I’m obsessed with I want all the merch I can only watch that show over and over again. I don’t know if I have autism but I’ve always wondered
Thank you for this insight. So much to learn about this.
This is important work as an adhd and autism type person who's getting diagnosed later this year or next I thank you 😊 🙏 for your important work 🙏 🤲 😊
This video made me realise, I might have been online groomed and I just now realized this. Thank you for this.
I don’t touch Seafood 😬
Maybe this video is directed towards female autism. But for me, I'm a male engineer, and by my estimates, many of my colleagues have autism. My father, though undiagnosed but obviously autistic, was a veterinary doctor. These types of fields give us chances to specialize and stay focused for long periods of time. They reward our autistic tendencies And since covid happened, there's more opportunity to work remotely. When I do go to the office, i work until early afternoon and then work from home. I mention that i need that afternoon break and i like to work evenings. People are understanding, but i'm a very focused worker so i believe that they back off since i produce good quality
I was diagnosed with Asperger's. 1. Would you like cheese on that? 2. Since one of the symptoms is difficulty with change... They changed the name.
Anxiety...
Thank you so much for being so open and vulnerable here. I see you, and I appreciate you. I am struggling with figuring out if I have autism or not and am trying learn as much as I can. I have been diagnosed with ADHD, so it's making it a little difficult for me to figure out.
Unrelated to this (very helpful) video, but I am noticing you speak so similarly to me. I never realized prior to diagnosis, but my therapist told me I have uneven/unusual pauses in my speech, and I was mind blown when going back through my TikTok’s 😳 It’s so crazy to me how autism literally affects every single thing in our lives.
Wow I'm also chronically depressed, lost a cousin and his father to suicide, I'm just the same
I hated school i was a burn victim. I was bullied because of them. Autism was not discussed in the 1980's. It still isn't now. I now have 2 children with autism and ADHD. I know I have ADHD. But testing for adults is insanely expensive but since both of my daughter's have autism I suspect I have it too. I have noticed the signs all of my life, but everyone ignores my autism. I loathed school because I was bullied. As an adult I'm ignored in public. So its the reverse. But if its my autism its understandable.
I got misdiagnosed with BPD first, 2.5 weeks I finally got my AuDHD diagnosis 🎉🩷🧚🏻♀️✨️
Getting things done, quickly, efficiently, with hyper focus and precision, taught me that workplaces value the performance of "being busy" more than they do actual efficiency. It really bugged me that getting my work done faster than my peers was actually a negative in a neurotypical environment. I would have to take my finished work, stow it away for a few hours, and twiddle my thumbs in boredom or pretending to work on it until a sufficient time had passed that my peers would see that I had "worked hard enough" on it.
Hi there im known to be high function ASD mostly cause I am independent and crave it but I kinda still remind people of rainman mostly cause im good with number's and probably can count card's.
I am seventy years old and have ASD.I am exactly the same way and it has taken years for me to think before I speak.I have gotten into many arguments with people over this fact, including my own husband and adult son and daughter.I cannot stand phonies, either, leaving me with only a few friends when I was in school many years ago.I lost one friend because of something I said that was completely misinterpreted by him.I am glad I found your channel and Loki forward to hearing more from you.😊
You sound like every woman I know seriously
The whole "O" name is so awesome! That is such an oddity I have as an autistic. Same names, letters, etc. My biggest one is when someone shares my birthday. I have twin cousins that share my birthday so my whole life, I am drawn to a commonality of birthday.
This was so helpful thank you for sharing your process and your story :,)
Name sisters 🫶🏽my name is Olivia to ❤Thank you for the informative video .
I would love to be friends with you I have fetal alcohol syndrome and high functioning autism
I was diagnosed with Autism when I was 16 A week before I turned 17. I had some depression along with it
I work a full time job while autistic and bipolar but The Job is also my hobby/interest which helps a lot with energy management. Can recommend. Its not for everyone obviously but it works for me
Hi, I'm 28, live in the UK and I'm also an autistic picky eater. 😅 I'm hoping your video will make me feel better. I have a beige diet and I'm so fussy with smell and texture of foods. I'm not a fan of hot drinks either but, I'll have a cup of tea every now and then. I have to hold the gagging in when people have ketchup. 🤢
8:41 people already tell level 1 ASD this though. That we don’t look Autistic and minimize our experiences. I don’t think anyone who says it’s not a disorder is arguing with it being a legal/medical term classified as a disorder. We are arguing with the social model. People with glasses are considered disabled with a vision impairment but no one including those with glasses consider themselves disabled (maybe a small minority do). They aren’t treated as less than for wearing glasses. I agree with the second comment. Just like the glasses analogy. Glasses is an accommodation but nobody considers them disabled. 🤷🏾♀️
I honestly think it entirely depends on the persons point of view and the social model of a disability. I don’t consider it a disorder or disability in itself. It is only a disability because we live in a world that is designed for Neurotypicals. I do not feel disabled at home or even in public when I am by myself and doing things on my own terms. The moment I feel like I lose control of my environment it becomes debilitating for me. For example I have an issue flying because I have no control of being at the airport, the lines, TSA, making it to the gate in time especially if it’s a connecting flight. I actually to better driving when it comes to travel because I am in control.
You make me nod and chuckle with recognition all throught the list. thank you.
I really hope tonnes of research is now carried out for girls with ASD. We end up suffering so badly and traumatically because its not picked up in us.
Geez you just described me… 😢😢😢
